The TetherBlock is a precision-milled aluminum plate designed to solve the single most common hardware failure in tethered photography: a broken camera data port. By “locking” the tether cable into the plate itself, it prevents any accidental tugs or trips from transferring stress to the camera’s delicate internal USB or HDMI connectors.
Integrated Cable Management: The underside features three different “channels” (grooves) designed to accommodate various cable thicknesses—from thin USB 2.0 cables to thick, shielded USB-C and HDMI cables.
Arca-Swiss Compatibility: The block itself is shaped like an Arca-Swiss quick-release plate. This means you can move your camera directly from your hand to a tripod head (like those from Really Right Stuff, Benro, or Kirk) without needing to attach additional plates.
Rock-Solid Connection: The cable is snaked through the channels and held in place by the pressure between the plate and the bottom of the camera. This ensures that even a direct, heavy pull on the cable won’t budge the plug inside the port.
Universal Mounting: Features a standard 1/4″−20 screw to attach to any DSLR or mirrorless body, plus an additional 1/4″−20 and 3/8″−16 female thread on the bottom if you need to mount a different style of plate underneath.
